This work-based qualification is designed for anyone employed in the kitchen fitting and installation. You will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to carry out installations safely and to a high standard, following industry National Occupational Standards.
By completing this course, you will demonstrate your competence in a real workplace setting, providing employers and clients with confidence in your abilities.
You do not need to attend college full-time to gain this qualification, you will gather evidence on site with the support of a qualified assessor.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Mandatory units include:
Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction and Associated Industries
Install Basic Plumbing
Install Fitted Furniture
Understanding Construction Technology
Understanding Information, Quantities and Communication with Others
Learners must achieve 55 credits from these units.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
This qualification is entirely work-based. You will receive regular site visits from an assessor who will observe your work, guide you in building your portfolio, and ensure you meet the assessment criteria.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment is by portfolio of evidence, workplace observations, and professional discussion. All units must be successfully completed to achieve the full qualification.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Completing this qualification demonstrates your competence as an Installer in the interiors sector. You can progress onto a Level 3 NVQ or specialist pathways to develop higher level skills in site management or supervision.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must be employed in a relevant role in the fitted interiors industry to undertake this qualification.
