COUNSELLING

Counsellors play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Working in safe, confidential settings, they help people navigate a wide range of complex and often deeply personal challenges, from trauma and anxiety to relationship issues and bereavement.

At Preston College, our counselling courses focus on developing not only your professional skills, but also your self-awareness, resilience, and capacity for self-reflection, ensuring you are well-equipped to provide effective support to others.

As a qualified counsellor, you can work in a variety of settings, including schools, colleges, universities, GP surgeries, hospitals, in the workplace, addiction services, disability support groups, and private practice.

If you are new to the profession, you’ll start at Level 2, with clear progression routes through Level 3, Level 4, and on to degree-level study. For those already working in the sector, our Foundation Degrees or BSC (Hons) Top-Up courses offer the chance to formalise your skills, gain higher-level qualifications, and access further career progression.
