This Level 3 NVQ Diploma is designed for those working in the domestic plumbing and heating industry who want to demonstrate their competence on site. This qualification allows you to gain recognition for the work you do day to day, proving your skills and knowledge meet the National Occupational Standards for the sector.
You’ll develop advanced practical skills and understanding across a range of specialist areas. It includes mandatory units and optional pathways covering oil firing, solid fuel, or environmental technologies.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Understand how to organise resources within BSE
Domestic cold water system installation, commissioning, service & maintenance
Domestic hot water system installation, commissioning, service & maintenance
Domestic central heating system installation, commissioning, service & maintenance
Electrical work on domestic plumbing and heating systems
Domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service & maintenance
Installation, commissioning, service & maintenance of domestic plumbing & heating systems
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will build a portfolio of evidence while working on-site. Assessment will be conducted by a qualified assessor who will visit you in the workplace and ensure you meet the required standards.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Successful completion can lead to:
Working as a fully qualified domestic plumber or heating engineer
Progression to Level 3 apprenticeships in advanced heating or gas
Gas Safe registration (with additional accreditation)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To enrol on this course, you must:
Hold a Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing and Heating, or
Have significant industry experience at an equivalent level
Be currently employed within the Building Services sector, as this qualification requires on-site assessment and evidence gathering.
